Discover London Belle

The first time I walked into London Belle, it felt like stepping into a familiar neighborhood diner that somehow also knew how to surprise you. Sitting at 321 S Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84111, United States, this spot has become a regular stop for locals who want comfort food without cutting corners on quality. You notice it right away in the way the staff greets repeat customers by name and in how the menu balances classic diner staples with thoughtful twists.

From personal experience, the breakfast rush here tells you a lot. I’ve stopped in on weekday mornings when construction crews, downtown office workers, and visitors all share the same space. Orders move fast, but nothing feels rushed. Plates come out hot, portions are generous, and everything tastes like it was cooked to order rather than pulled from a warming tray. That consistency matters, especially in a diner setting where expectations are high and patience is low.

The menu leans into American comfort food with confidence. Think fluffy pancakes, crisp bacon, eggs done exactly how you ask, and burgers that hold together without trying too hard to be trendy. One server explained their process to me during a slower afternoon: most items are prepped in-house daily, sauces included, which keeps flavors steady and waste low. That lines up with broader industry data from the National Restaurant Association, which reports that diners favor restaurants that focus on freshness and simple execution over complicated concepts. You can taste that philosophy in every bite here.

Lunch and dinner bring a different energy. I’ve seen families sharing booths, couples splitting fries, and solo diners quietly working through a sandwich and a milkshake. Reviews often mention the balance between price and portion size, and that’s fair. Compared to similar downtown locations, the value holds up. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, menu prices in urban cores have steadily increased over the past decade, yet this place has managed to stay accessible without shrinking plates.

What really builds trust is transparency. The restaurant posts health inspection results openly, following guidance from the Salt Lake County Health Department. That kind of openness goes a long way, especially when food safety is a top concern. The CDC consistently notes that visible cleanliness and proper handling practices are key factors in where people choose to eat, and this diner clearly understands that.

I once brought an out-of-town friend who was skeptical about diner food in general. Halfway through a plate of hash browns and eggs, he admitted it was exactly what he hoped for but rarely found. That’s a small case study, but it mirrors many online reviews praising the reliability and straightforward approach. People aren’t coming here for foam or fusion; they’re coming for best breakfast downtown vibes and leaving satisfied.

There are limitations worth noting. Seating can feel tight during peak hours, and parking downtown always takes a little patience. Still, those are trade-offs most regulars accept without complaint. The location puts it within easy walking distance for anyone already in the city center, which explains the steady foot traffic.

Over time, this diner has earned its reputation not through flashy marketing but through repeat visits and word of mouth. When a place can keep locals coming back in an area packed with options, that says more than any advertisement. Every visit reinforces the same idea: solid food, familiar faces, and a menu that knows exactly what it wants to be.

  • It's SO beautiful in here!! It's chill, the atmosphere is absolutely calming and pleasant, the staff has been wonderful from the hostess to the bartender to the servers. Everything in here is beautiful, it's high class and high-end but not so expensive that it's unaffordable for a full-time single mom. My girlfriends and I don't get to go out together very often but we are tonight and this is a perfect place to be. It's comfortable, cute, they have a saxophonist, they can accommodate parties small and large. They have an excellent drink and food menu with plenty to select from. Everything is just classy and sleek. I'm really glad that my girlfriend recommended it! Thanks London Belle!

  • Love the atmosphere and feel of this place. Old iron doors, dark lit brick walls, low lights, highly creative seating spaces, etc. I could spend hours and hours here! The food is pretty good and the drinks as you can see on the picture, are gorgeous and so sooo beautiful. I’ve been in SLC multiple times and I can’t believe I didn’t hear of this place before, I was definitely missing out. The service is on top and they’re as quick as a lighting, never had to wait for a drink. The owner, Frank, is an amazing person too!

  • Been here twice, the first time in January 2025 and recently in April. We always try to beat the dinner rush and we never stay long enough to listen to the DJ set. January had Fish & Chips on the menu and I read there was a kitchen staff change -- I'm not sure whether the ownership changed or not, but the food was still delicious. We ordered The London, a 10 oz ribeye steak with mashed potatoes. The first time we ordered The London, it was served with asparagus, the second time was served with broccoli. We tried the Miso Fried Chicken the first time around and it was pretty good, 4/5. Chicken was juicy, not dry. We also ordered an appetizer, a duck poutine (?) which they no longer serve. I tried with Twice Cooked Pork Belly, which was really good. Pork was not dry, the shave cucumber salad was oddly addicting and added a nice flavor profile to the pork, and the garlic rice was slightly crunchy as if it was fried. One thing that I didn't enjoy was that the seat (made of some sort of fabric material?) smelled a bit like urine. Of course, this is technically a bar, so I understand "mishaps" happen, but I definitely did not want to smell that while eating dinner. I ultimately swapped seats before ordering my meal.

  • Fun place with a swanky but welcoming vibe. The service was fantastic. The food and drinks were a bit hit and miss. The miso fried chicken and the grilled cheese were great but I was unimpressed by the sloppy Joe and a couple of the cocktails were pretty average. The fried banana dessert was fantastic. Some of the tables are a bit odd and uncomfortable (the tall couches in the back were fun but not at all practical). Overall it was a very enjoyable evening but the price tag was up there (close to $50 a person after tax and tip, though that was with drinks and dessert) and I think they need to refine a few menu items.

  • This lounge is a hidden gem! Walking in, I felt like I was transported straight to a trendy spot in LA or NYC. The giant entrance door adds to the experience—so unique! Live jazz music set the perfect vibe, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive. The food was delicious, and the overall ambiance made it a top-tier hangout. Can’t wait to bring my out-of-town family here!

  • We came to London Belle for brunch on Easter Sunday. The food was delicious and tasty. The service was fabulous. Our sever was Lacey, who I recommend, complete service with a smile. One of the best servers we have had in a while. We ordered Smoked Salmon Benedict, and the Crab cakes Benedict while listening to a talented saxophone player. The prices were really reasonable too!! Enjoy

  • Had a wonderful night this past weekend at the London Belle. The service was on point and the Brothel Burger was delicious. I don’t usually write reviews but the bartender Manny made a killer Mezcal. It was so well made, you might as well start calling it the “Manny Mezcal”! I look forward to my next evening eating and drinking at your establishment. Cheers!
